Los Angeles longest running popular variety show Lucha VaVoom and KCRW’s summer club will be hosting a one-night livestreaming event Stay-In VaVoom on Thursday September 3rd from 7:00pm to 8:00 pm PDT.

Lucha VaVoom is a celebrated show where there is Mexican masked wrestling, burlesque shows, and  funny comedians. 

KCRW’s Dj Anthony Valadez who is a big wrestling fan will be co-hosting the live streaming event along with Lucha VaVoom’s co-founder Miss Rita. 

Both of the Co-Hosts will offer behind the scenes experiences with the wrestlers, aerialists and the roller girls. The show guarantees to have surprise performances and action all through a virtual experience at home. 

KCRW members will be able to enjoy the variety show at no costs and non members will have tickets available after donating a minimum of $ 1 dollar at EventBrite.com     

A donation of over $ 30 dollars will automatically get you enrolled into KCRW’s fringe benefits which are normally available to members who spend over $60 dollars. On the day of the event a zoom link will be sent to all attendees.

Stay-In Vavoom will have special performances by Donita Sparks, Starcrawler and a punk band Object As Subject.

Fans can expect to see a professional lucha-libre wrestling between the  two-time Reina de Reinas champions Taya Valkrie, Dama Fina, Chupacabra, Dr Maldad and Crazy Chickens and daredevil Veronica Yune and some of the top skaters courtesy of La Roller Girls and actor Brandon Johnson. 

The livestreaming show will have a big comedy lineup including Patton Oswalt, Andy Ritcher, Greg Proops, Drew Carey, and Blaine Capatch who will have an off-the-cuff commentary.

 “Growing up in the greater Los Angeles area, summers have always had a mythical quality to me. Long summer vacations from school, days and nights spent at the beaches and parks with friends, hearing summer radio hits that stay with you forever, and watching beautiful real life sunsets (and then seeing them airbrushed on t-shirts and vans) are all enmeshed to form my L.A. experience in the seemingly carefree 70’s & 80’s,” said Rita. 

Friday August 28th will mark the 18th anniversary for Lucha VaVoom who has been shocking their audiences with their unique extravaganza shows.
