This past week Supra Footwear teamed up with local Professional Skateboarders, Victor Brooks, Ben Sauer, Ryan Shultz & David Peralta to make a surprise visit to Volcom Skatepark in Costa Mesa where they gave away free shoes to the skaters at the park. It wasn’t too long before the group was surrounded by very grateful skaters. The shoes that range in price from $75-$150, are highly coveted because of their unique designs and high functionality.
Supra was created in Los Angeles in 2006 by Angel Cabada when he partnered with professional skaters Jim Greco, Erik Ellington, Tom Penny, Chad Muska, and Dennis Martin. Supra’s ethos was “to take what they loved about footwear and merge it with what they love about skateboarding shoes.” Supra currently has flagship stores in Santa Monica, New York City, Brooklyn, Paris, and Tokyo and distributes to over 60 countries through a network of select skate shops and high-end boutiques.
Supra has done collaborations with Steve Aoki, Lil Wayne, Skullcandy, Disney, and many others. Aside from the founders Supra’s skate team currently includes Spencer Hamilton, Lizard King, Dee Ostrander, Sascha Daley, Clint Walker, and Leandre Sanders. Volcom Skatepark is open daily 9am-9pm and located at 900 Arlington Dr, Costa Mesa, CA 92626.
