Take Action Compilation Released Today To Help Non-Profit

Take Action CompThe Take Action Compilation to help the non-profit It Gets Better Project features great bands such as The Used and Bad Religion

Today the eleventh volume of the popular compilation album, Take Action was just released in which benefits the non-profit, It Gets Better Project. The album feature some rare or discontinued songs from such bands as The Used and Bad Religion.

22-track album features the “The Lonely” by The Used and “Fuck You” from Bad Religion that are rare/unreleased track from the two bands. Also on the compilation are band AWOLNATION, Mayday Parade, All Time Low, 3oH!3 to name a few.

The money raised by the compilation are given to the It Gets Better Project. Syndicated columnist and author Dan Savage created a YouTube video with his partner Terry Miller to inspire hope for young people facing harassment. In response to a number of students taking their own lives after being bullied in school, they wanted to create a personal way for supporters everywhere to tell LGBT youth that, yes, it does indeed get better.

The non-profit has become a worldwide movement, inspiring more than 50,000 user-created videos viewed more than 50 million times. To date, the project has received submissions from celebrities, organizations, activists, politicians and media personalities, including President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Adam Lambert, Anne Hathaway, Colin Farrell, Matthew Morrison of “Glee”, Joe Jonas, Joel Madden, Ke$ha, Sarah Silverman, Tim Gunn, Ellen DeGeneres, Suze Orman, the staffs of The Gap, Google, Facebook, Pixar, the Broadway community, and many more. For us, every video changes a life. It doesn’t matter who makes it.

Normally, I am not a big fan of compilation albums because there are usually one or two songs that you really like and I am done. This album has more than a few hidden gems such as Glass Cloud’s version of “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” cover from Tears from Fears and Broadway Calls “Bring on the Storm”.

If you like music compilations this is a great one to pick up and will be happy with your purchase of the 22-track album especially knowing that your money is going to a great cause. The album is also accompanied by a tour that will be making stops around the country with headliners The Used, with We Came As Romans, Crown The Empire, and Mindflow. The tour will also be raising money for the non-profit and begins this Friday in Las Vegas.
