The Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T) does it again. Tom Brady solidifies himself as the winningest football player of all time. With this Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers get their second title and Tom Brady’s seventh title. With the Buccaneers having the odds stacked against them, they had a tall task stacked against them going up against one of the NFL’s most high powered offenses, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Todd Bowles, the Defensive Coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, smelled blood in the water with the Chiefs having their star Left Tackle, Eric Fisher, injured. They also had two inexperienced players on the right side of the line, Stefen Wisniewski and Andrew Wylie. This gave Shaquil Barrett and Jason Pierre-Paul open range to put pressure on Patrick Mahomes, which they did.

According to ESPN, “Mahomes was pressured on 29 of his 56 dropbacks, good for 52% of his total dropbacks. It was also good for the most pressures against any QB in the Super Bowl in NFL history, passing a record previously held by Buffalo Bills QB Jim Kelly in Super Bowl XXVI”. Mahomes ended the night 26/49 for 270 yards, two interceptions and no touchdowns, forcing them to a season low of only nine points.

Tom Brady won his seventh superbowl at age 43, and his first at age 24; he put up amazing numbers throughout his career. Tonight, he was nothing more than spectacular. Completing 21/29 passes for a total of 3 touchdowns and 201 passing yards; with all four touchdowns tonight coming from Tampa Bay’s new addition throughout this year and off-season.

Rob Gronkowski scored two touchdowns on six receptions, Antonio Brown a single touchdown with five receptions for twenty-two yards, and the final score of the night came from Leonard Fournette, on sixteen rushing attempts for a total of eighty-nine yards.

Although this year’s Superbowl was lackluster for most fans, it was one to remember. From Patrick Mahomes being six years-old when Tom Brady won his first championship, to this being only the second time that both quarterbacks, in their first superbowl matchup against each other, had high regarded accolades. John Elway versus Joe Montana in Super Bowl XXXII was the first time that both quarterbacks were previous Super Bowl winners and former regular season MVPs.
