Team World wins over Team Africa, 101-97, in first ever NBA Africa game

NBA Africa Game 2015Current and two hall of fame veteran NBA players captivated a sold out Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa Saturday.

The two hall of famers, Hakeem Olajuwon and Dikembe Mutombo, both played for a couple minutes in the second quarter in front of their home fans.

Olajuwon and Mutombo are the top two NBA block leaders of all time respectively.

In the game Olajuwon had two points and one steal.

Mutombo went 0-for-2 from the field and grabbed three defensive rebounds.

Team World, led by captain Chris Paul, trailed the entire game before making a 39 point run in the final quarter to secure the win.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led Team Africa with a game high 22 points followed by team captain Luol Deng with 20 points.

Team Africa was made up of NBA players with either first or second generation relations to African families.

Jeff Green led Team World with 19 points and Bradley Beal was right behind him with 18.

Evan Turner contributed 14 points off the bench for Team World.
