The Fate of the Furious Trailer Released

If you thought you’ve seen everything the Fast and Furious franchise had to give; you were wrong.

Last night, Times Square in New York City was taken over by the cast of the upcoming movie, The Fate of the Furious. Director F. Gary Gray along with Vin Diesel and the rest of the original cast. Where in New York for a Facebook live streaming premiere event, that would launch the trailer for the highly anticipated film. “We’re the first film in history to shut down Times Square for trailer; it’s unbelievable.” Diesel tells Sasha Perl-Raver.

The Fate of the Furious is the 8th film in the Fast and Furious Saga, and the first one in the series to be filmed without the late Paul Walker; who tragically died off-set while shooting on Furious 7 was halfway complete. Walkers character Brian O’Conner, was retired at the end of film. 

The trailer which has nearly 5 million views on YouTube, since its release. Shows Dom and the rest of the team pulling off another successful heist. Everything seems to be going well, until Dom purposely runs Hobbs off the road. That is when we are introduced to Cipher, a cyber-criminal terrorist who has somehow managed to get Dom to betray his team. “Did you ever think you’d betray your family, the way you did today?” She asks him.

Much of the main cast from the recent F7, return to reprise their roles apart from Jordana Brewster. Whose character, Mia Toretto was also retired alongside Walkers. F8 will also feature newcomers Scott Eastwood, Games of Thrones Kristofer Hivju, Academy Award winner Helen Mirren, and Academy Award winner Charlize Theron, who will play the criminal Cipher.

The official movie poster shows Dom and Hobbs with their backs turned to each other and the tag line “Family No More.” While the fate of our favorite racing crew, may be unknown. One thing that fans of the franchise can expect, is more action and fast cars; as promised by the action-packed trailer.

The Fate of the Furious races into theaters April 14th, 2017.
