Telemundo released the official trailer and announced its U.S premiere date for its new telenovela, Cafe Con Aroma de Mujer, starring William Levy, Carmen Villalobos and Laura Londoño.

A remake of the original 1994 telenovela of the same name, Cafe Con Aroma de Mujer, tells the story of Sebastian Vallejo (Levy), grandson of Octavio Vallejo, an influential businessman and owner of the Hacienda Casablanca. Who falls in love with Gaviota (Londoño), a woman who works in the coffee fields. The two will have to overcome family resistance, past loves, and obstacles that come with social-class differences.

International Colombian actress Carmen Villalobos, known for her many leading roles as the protagonist in numerous Telemundo productions, will be switching gears and taking on the part of Lucia Sandoval de Vallejo, the series antagonist and longtime friend to Sebastian and his family.

The official trailer was released on the show’s Instagram page. Along with a special message from its leading lady, Laura Londoño.

In an interview with People en Español, Villalobos spoke about the attraction she felt towards her character telling the magazine: “I said ‘how great to be able to explore a different type of series,’ and, well the topic of the antagonist, for a moment, moved the ground because how fun to not be the good girl all the time, but the one who causes pain.” says the actress. “Although, careful, this villain is very real and very human.”

Produced by RNC Colombia, this modern adaptation of one of the most successful telenovelas ever made was filmed under COVID-19 health and safety guidelines will air on Telemundo on May 25.
