img_1830Alhambra, CA –The San Gabriel Valley has officially hopped on the music festival train, on Saturday September 10th bringing MainFest to downtown Alhambra. With a diverse lineup of music, DJs, a beer garden, tasty food trucks, and vibrant art, MainFest proved itself to be a necessary faucet of culture to Southern California. Alhambra shut down only two blocks of Main Street, from Garfield to 2nd Street, making it a small scale venue for a festival. Despite the size, there was tons of space to dance and rock out to a variety of sounds. While concert goers came out for headliner Captial Cities later in the evening, there was one band that particularly caught the eyes (or ears) of quite a few music fans.

Too Bad is the name of the band, and it’s really too bad if you missed them perform live at Main Fest because they are a force not to be reckoned with! (There will be plenty of upcoming opportunities to see Too Bad so don’t worry too much!) Too Bad performed a show to a completely packed house at Frontera’s Mexican Grill, smack down in the center of the Alhambra festival. Although Too Bad may be in the beginning stages of their musical career, their sound would demonstrate otherwise because they have got it down. They know who they are and exactly who their audience is—which is a wide one.

Too Bad has created an epic mix of 80s synth pop, new wave, and punk. It’s like Billy Idol meets Talking Heads meets Duran Duran. Too Bad is truly an eclectic combination, which is why they’ve coined the term “EDR” which stands for “Electric Dance Rock.”

Their new single, “Manimal” features a funky backbeat with edgy bass and cool vocals. Get to know the threesome Too Bad, Gerry Saint, Jason Napier and Jason Berlin by watching the interview below!
