Universal Pictures released yesterday the trailer for the first in the new shared Universal monster universe, The Mummy. The film stars Tom Cruise and directed by Alex Kurtzman and within the movie poster clearly printed, “Welcome to a new world of gods and monsters,” making the statement we are going to see something we may have never seen from Universal Pictures before with their classic monster franchises.

Believed to be safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella), whose destiny was unjustly taken from her, is awakened in our current day, bringing malevolence with her that has grown over millennia.

The film also stars Annabelle Wallis, Russell Crowe as Dr. Henry Jekyll and Sofia Boutella as Ahmanet. The film will be released on June 9, 2017.
