Transformers: The Ride Opens For Special Preview At Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood is currently soft opening the parks new attraction, Transformers: The Ride. The new experience puts you the guest in the action of an epic battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons. The attraction is a great collaboration between Universal, director of the franchise Michael Bay and George Lucas’s Industrial Light and Magic (ILM).

The new attraction is located in the lower lot area of the park in the space what formely held Backdraft and Special Effects Stage attractions. As you enter into the Networked Elements: Supporters and Transformers (N.E.S.T.) command center as you walk through one of the best detailed line experiences at the Universal Hollywood theme park.

The experience real sets the guest up for what is to come. Guest will also get to see items from the movies such as the All-Spark which in the beginning of the film Optimus Prime describes it as, “Before time began, there was… the Cube. We know not where it comes from, only that it holds the power to create worlds and fill them with life. That is how our race was born.”

You enter your Autobot named EVAC and then the 4-minute adventure begins. The ride similar to what was open in December 2011 in Singapore but the difference the Hollywood version is the use of the Dolby 3D glasses technology. The same glasses used in last years Star Tours: The Adventure Continues attraction at the Disneyland Resort.

The glasses really give this version a great sense of depth and makes you feel like your are apart of the action. EVAC takes you thru a couple different show rooms as you see all your favorite Autobots such as Bumblebee, Optimus Prime to Decepticons Devastator and Megatron.

Transformers: The Ride does not officially open till May 26 but during the first weekend of May annual passholders will be able to get on the attraction.

After that special preview I am sure you will see the attraction conduct soft openings prior too the official opening as many parks due to work out any ride problems or adjustments. If you get a chance to ride this attraction is a definite must. It is turning out to be a great year for new theme park attractions.
