The hit comedy series Tacoma FD is coming back for its third season on TruTV.

The network asked the series co creators Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme for 13-episodes on the third season.

“We couldn’t be more proud of the work this team has achieved season after season” said Brett Weitz, General Manager of TBS, TNT, and TruTV.  With Tacoma FD’s fanbase continuing to grow, the show is a huge success story for us, and we can’t wait to see what kind of Station 24 shenanigans Kevin, Steve, and the incredible cast come up with next.”

Earlier this year, the second season reached up to 11 million viewers and has shown a ratings overgrowth season after season. It has also been ranked among the ad-supportive cable’s top 5 comedy series.

“I’m incredibly excited– mostly because I get to watch Kevin begin his arduous, six-month mustache-growing process. He only has 12 hair holes in his upper lip, so it takes some time,” said co-creator Steve Lemme.

Heffernan and Lemme were surprised with the news of the season 3 renewal by Weitz on today’s episode of Tacoma FD that airs tonight at 10:30 pm ET/PT on TruTV.

Tacoma FD takes place in a firehouse at one of the rainiest cities in the United States. With not a lot of fires to fight, the firefighters entertain themselves with creative competitions, friendly first responder rivalries and no shortage of bizarre emergency calls.

The firehouse antics are led by co-creators Kevin Heffernan as Chief Terry McConky and Kevin Lemme as Captain Eddie Penisi and are joined by a wide-ranging crew.

The comedy series is a half-hour show executive produced by Heffernan and Lemme along with David Miner and Greg Walter from 3 arts Entertainment.
