Universal Studios Prepares For 50th Anniversary Night Time Tram Tour

Universal Studios Hollywood is preparing for their grand 50th Anniversary Celebration. We have seen the release of the Springfield Simpson’s area and the opening of the Wizard World of Harry Potter preview store.

A couple weeks ago the park was preparing for a revamped tram tour that will extend into the evening hours. In the past the tram tour would end at dusk even during the popular summer months. For 2015 the tram tour will be running at night and adding additional experiences into the world famous studio tour.

Universal announced an open casting call looking for new tram guides and thousands of would be guides came in to try and get some of the most coveted spots at the theme park.

Men and women from all over Southern California lined up to be apart of history which dates back from when founder Carl Laemmle opened the studio serving lunches to see the productions being filmed on the lot. On July 15, 1964 when the Universal Studios Lot opened as an attraction with just the tram tour it has been the remaining constant to this historical piece of land.

We talked to Creative Director of Universal Studios Hollywood Jon Murdy about the new additions to the tram tour and what is needed to be a tram guide. Please stay tuned as we will be bringing you Universal Studios history in celebration of 50 years of being the entertainment capital of Los Angeles up to the opening of their latest attraction, Fast & Furious: Supercharged.
