Hollywood, CA- This summer Universal Studios will welcome The Walking Dead attraction that will be available to visitors all year-round. This attraction is based on AMC’s top-rated television series will come to real life. Universal Studios Hollywood has collaborated with AMC’s “The Walking Dead†for years and has been a part of the “Halloween Horror Nights†maze. For this new attraction, Universal Studios has partnered up with “The Walking Dead†creative team, including the visionary executive producer and director, Greg Nicotero.
Nicotero’s special effects company, KNB EfX is responsible for mastering the creation of the show’s realistic decaying walkers, prosthetics, utilizing the original molds, and applying paint and detailing the walkers. Not only will Greg’s team create an emotional experience for its fans, but it will also distinguish the different characteristics and will become the living version of the show. “The Walking Dead†attraction will feature scenes from the different seasons of the show and this will allow the guests to experience what they see on the popular show.
Universal Studios held a casting call seeking hordes of walkers for this attraction. The auditions took place at the theme park where walkers were able to give it their best zombie walk. The zombies-to-be were in character as they stood in line and waited their turn. Once chosen, the walkers will use the walker make-up effect ,their costumes will have a realistic set design, they will use recognizable props that have been replicated to the series in order to deliver the realistic experiences to guest that will lure them closer to the most watched chow in cable television history.
Walking Dead attraction will open at the theme park on July 4.
