Los Angeles, CA – Vanessa Carlton is thrilled to announce her fall tour in support of her much-anticipated NEW studio album, Liberman out October 23, 2015 in North America via Dine Alone Records. Fans are also now able to pre-order an autographed copy of Liberman (standard, deluxe) exclusively on Vanessa’s website that can be bundled with tickets to the upcoming tour. A vinyl edition of the album will be available end of November.The ten songs on the upcoming album reflect Vanessa’s current state of mind since moving from NYC to Nashville, marrying husband John McCauley (Deer Tick) and having a baby girl. The simple instrumentation mixed with her wistful vocals and poignant lyrics bring you into her world and showcase a new side to this accomplished songwriter. Vanessa recently unveiled the album artwork, track listing, and premiered her latest track “Willows” as well as a lyric video on USA TODAY.
When discussing the album title, which was named after a colorful oil painting by her grandfather whose given name was Liberman, Vanessa says, “The swirly colors of that painting reminded me of the music and the music reminds me of those colors. Then I looked up what Liberman means and it’s ‘honorable man’ and ‘my beloved’ – all these things that just felt right to me. It’s a strong family name that, in a weird way, describes the music to me.”
Fans were given a first taste of her new album with the EPÂ Blue Pool, which included tracks “Take It Easy” and “Blue Pool” that will be featured on the upcoming album as well as “Operator (Live Living Room Session)” and “Nothing Where Something Used To Be (Live Living Room Session)” to be featured on the deluxe version. The deluxe version of the album will be released the same day featuring a complete collection of Live Living Room Sessions.
