Vans Warped Tour Tickets Out Now

They’re here! General admission tickets to the final run of the fan-favorite festival, Vans Warped Tour are out now. Check them out here: http://vanswarpedtour.com/dates/

Founder Kevin Lynman announced last November that VWT was ending this summer after 24 years on the road. “I truly am happy to get the chance to travel around the country one more time to thank you for your support, and bring you another best day ever,” said Lynman.

This tour started back in 1995 (oh the nineties), with a clear punk-rock feel but over the years it picked up pretty much every other genre out there. Including, hip hop, metal, pop, reggae and others. Consequently, it became the largest traveling music festival in the nation and by adding more flavors to its music choice its fan base grew but apparently not for long.

Lynman says low-ticket sales and lack of bands participating were some of the reasons why the long-running festival is coming to an end. He also says he’s “just tired.”

“Before Warped I was on three years of Lollapalooza, so [it’s been] 26 straight summers out on the road,” he told Billboard. “Not that I’m completely going anywhere, but traveling around the country with a tour this size in the landscape that we’re in is… to be honest, I’m just tired,” Lynman stated.

This year’s line up is filled with veterans and newbies. It’s bringing some of its most acclaimed past performers back together but also a few new bands for the younger crowd. Those included are Reel Big Fish, Bowling For Soup, The Used, Frank Turner, All Time Low, Simple Plan, Taking Back Sunday, The Maine, Waterparks, The Interrupters, ISSUES, SUM 41, Tonight Alive, Knuckle Puck, 3OH!3, and many more.

But of course, Vans Warped Tour is not just about music but also about shining light on non-profit organizations and about bringing educational workshops to it’s audience. This summer they’ll be launching the FEND Movement (Full Energy, No Drugs) which stands to help youth against opioid use.

There’ll be 14 non-profits out there touring with the musicians. Included is Feed Our Children Now, which helps feed youth across the country. You can actually get an Express Entry wristband by bringing in 3 canned goods (cannot be dented), donating 5 bucks or turning in a used cell phone. Another is To Write Love On Her Arms, a movement helping those struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. You can find the full list of the non-profits here: http://vanswarpedtour.com/nonprofits/

The 38-day tour begins June 21 in Pomona, CA and ends August 5 in West Palm, FL.
