Author, Virginia Hanlon Grohl and her son, Foo Fighter frontman, Dave Grohl, will partner again as executive producers for their new docuseries, “From Cradle to Stage.”
The docuseries is based on the book, “From Cradle to Stage: Stories from the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars,” penned by Hanlon Grohl in 2017. Just like the novel, the series features the interviews of the mothers of musicians such as Adam Levine, Michael Stripe, Amy Winehouse, Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson and Dr. Dre.
“I’m beyond excited to join in on the next step of my mother’s project to explore the stories of other musicians who were as fortunate as me, having been raised by such amazing women. Plus…I owe her one,” Grohl said, who helped to promote his mother’s work. Since last year, the duo have appeared on several shows like the Stephen Colbert Late Show and CBS Morning News.
According to Variety, Live Nation Productions is teaming up with Endeavor Content to produce the series.
“Virginia articulates each person’s story in her book in a way that illuminates the unique power a strong woman can have in a person’s life,” said Liesl Copland of Endeavour Content. “We look forward to working with Live Nation Productions to develop a premium docuseries that feeds an audience who is increasingly hungry for stories of the genius of women like Virginia and their iconic sons and daughters.”
A date for the series premiere is still pending while it is waiting to be picked up by a network.
