Keep it Cute, the hot, new boy-band out of San Antonio, Texas, is definitely keeping it fresh on this year’s Summerfest Tour. We caught up with them before the show at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA.
The quartet band is made up of Ryan Alexander (Vocals), Matt Zaval (Guitar), Aldo Lazcano (Bass) and Kevin Diaz de Leon (Drums). These guys have managed to make some amazing tunes, blending pop and rock’n’roll into their own unique style. Whether it’s a cool cover, or an original and upbeat jam, each song leaves you with a feeling of connectedness to the band. They strive for a strong relationship to their fans, and make sure their music reflects that.
Because the band seems to have such a grasp on the music scene, their ages might come as a surprise. The youngest members are only eighteen! That’s right girls, feel free to go crazy and drool over these boys. The band was started by Ryan Alexander before he even reached high school, and they’ve continued developing their sound ever since. Their first EP titled New Beginnings was released in 2012, and Ryan revealed to us that they have a new one coming out (hopefully) soon.
Though the band consists of heartthrob-worthy members, it doesn’t mean girls are the only ones keeping an eye on these guys. They were featured in Alternative Press’ April 2013’s list of “100 Bands You Need To Know.” They also landed some sweet gigs on 2012’s South by Southwest and Warped Tour festivals.
It’s no surprise then that Keep it Cute is kicking of each show as the opening band for the Summerfest Tour. They definitely know how to keep up with the big bands, playing alongside The Ready Set and We the Kings. Check out our interview with Matt and Ryan to see what Keep it Cute was up to at the Anaheim House of Blues.
