The NBCU-owned Spanish-language broadcasting station Telemundo unveiled its latest slate in TV programming, including renewals and several new lineups.

One of the new shows on the dock is a revival of the 1994 Colombian novela, Cafe, con Aroma de Mujer (Coffee With The Scent of A Woman.) A story of two individuals who will have to overcome family resistance, past loves, and the obstacles that come with social-class differences.

Actor William Levy

In his first RCN Colombian production, the Cuban-American actor William Levy snagged the leading role of Sebastian Vallejo. While this is Levy’s first time teaming up with Telemundo, he is no novice to the part of leading man. In 2008, he landed the male lead role of Juan Miguel, opposite Mexican actress, and singer Maite Perroni, in Cuidado Con el Angel (Careful with the Angel.) Since then, he has had leading roles in other Univision productions, such as in 2010s Triunfo Del Amor (Love’s Triumph), which reunited him with his co-star Maite Perroni, Sortilegio, and La Tempestad.

In 2011 he gained worldwide attention after appearing as Jennifer Lopez’s love interest for her music video, “I’m Into You.” The following year he made his American media debut by becoming a contestant on season 14 of Dancing With the Stars being partners with Cheryl Burke, where they finished in third place.

Since his time on Dancing With the Stars, he has appeared in Tyler Perry’s The Single Mom’s Club, the erotic thriller, Addicted, and had a recurring role on season 3 of FOX’s tv show, Star.

Carmen Villalobos

Always the protagonist, now the antagonist. Colombian actress Carmen Villabolos will, for the first time in her career, make the switch to play the antagonist role of Lucia Sanclamente in this modern adaptation. Villalobos made her Telemundo telenovela broadcasting debut, with minor roles in La Tormenta (The Storm) and Amores de Mercado (Love at the Market). However, her leading role as Catalina Santana in the Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso (Without Breast There Is No Paradise) launched her career into international stardom and made her a household name.

Her career has been that of a leading woman in many productions. Following the success of Sin Senos, she had a leading role in Ninos Ricos, Pobres Padres (Rich Kids, Poor Parents), recurring roles in two Telemundo series, was the female lead and love interest in Mi Corazon Insiste en Lola Volcan (My Heart Insist on Lola Volcan) and reprised her role as Catalina Santana, in the relaunch and subsequent spin-off of Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso (Without Breast There Is No Paradise).

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the start date on production has yet to be announced, and the remaining cast list remains to be confirmed.
