Wrath of Vesuvius drops LP – “Revelation” with Right of Passage Records

Wrath of VesuviusProgressive/Technical Deathcore band Wrath of Vesuvius have just released their second full length LP – “Revelation” available on iTunes for $7.99 to infest your little metal hearts.

Bred in Manteca/San Jose, CA, Vesuvius ignited independently in 2009.

Unsigned, the band dropped their first official EP in 2009 entitled “A World in Peril.” Soon after that, the band released their first official full length LP in November 2010 entitled “Portals Through Ophiuchus.”

After signing on with Los Angeles-based independent metal label Rite of Passage Records in early 2012, the band started production on “Revelation” with renowned producer Zack Ohren (All Shall Perish, Suffocation) at Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland, CA.

“We were drawn to Rite of Passage because we’ve known about Mediaskare Records (ROP’s parent label) for years and know that they take care of their bands if they work hard,” stated the band. “We saw how other bands on the roster have grown and felt that Rite of Passage was the best fit to call home for The Wrath of Vesuvius.”

In regards to what to expect from this album, the band stated the following: “We took a different approach to our songs this time around, such as having an overall darker feel and mood. There are multiple themes that play a role both lyrically and instrumentally;” adding “In the title track of our new album, “Revelation”, the lyrics explain a very hopeless outlook on life, and it lays the groundwork for all the themes throughout the album. ‘Revelation’ contains negative themes along the lines of compulsive behavior, anxiety, depression, and the self-abuse that might entail.”

With lyrics from the single “Somber Silence” stating “I find light in the darkest of spaces, through the lake of fire and down the corridor of faces; all the way to a fortress I’ve mended in my mind, made up only by me, no work of the divine.”

On a brighter note, the album isn’t all just somber and gloom though, the band adds “Revelation” has positive outlooks as well, such as chasing one’s passions at all costs in order to feel content with life at the end of the day- despite being lost from the start.”

Check them out, they’ll be headlining alongside bands such as “Winds of Plague” “Destruction of a King” “Fallujah” “Aristeia” and many more at the KEEP IT HEAVY FEST II 2013 at THE VEX/ARTS L.A in Los Angeles, CA on September 28th.
