From YouTube to “5 Towers”, Megan Nicole and Ian Thomas Perform at the Music Spotlight Series

The Music Spotlight Series at “5 Towers” continues at Universal CityWalk on July 17th, with performances by multi-gold album selling artist Ian Thomas and rising pop star Megan Nicole.

The young artists both began their careers posting videos onto YouTube, singing their own versions of hit songs. However, neither of them would have imagined that their viewers would respond at such a large scale.

Ian Thomas rose to YouTube stardom at 13, after his cover of Justin Bieber’s hit song “Baby” went viral. As a youngster from Belgium, he became an international hot topic . He went on to record three studio albums: More Than A Game (2011) , Diversity (2013)  and his latest album “GAMETIME” (2014), featuring artists such as Snoop Dogg and Lance Bass.

If his blue eyes and blonde hair aren’t enough to get the girls running wild, his performance might just do it with his sweet rhythmic version of top hits and original music.

The night was headlined by Megan Nicole. The YouTube star graced the “5 Towers” stage for her second time as her fans anticipated her performance, holding up bright signs for her.

The guitar and piano playing artist, got her start on YouTube singing covers and gained over a million subscribers and generated over 350 million YouTube views. However, Megan Nicole wanted to grow as an artist and began posting videos of her own music. Afraid that she might not receive the same adoration from her viewers she took a chance and posted “B-e-a-utiful”, her fans responded positively.

Megan Nicole is now signed with Bad boy/Interscope and is getting ready to debut her first album.
