The Latino Entertainment Journalists Association announced nominees for its eighth annual Latino Entertainment Film Awards.

Sinners leads this year’s nominations with 16 nods, including best picture, best director for Ryan Coogler and acting nominations for Michael B. Jordan and Wunmi Mosaku. One Battle After Another follows with 15 nominations, including best picture, best director for Paul Thomas Anderson and acting nominations for Leonardo DiCaprio, Chase Infiniti, Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn and Teyana Taylor.

Frankenstein earned 14 nominations, while The Secret Agent received 11. Hamnet ranks fifth with nine nominations. All three films are also nominated for best picture.

The remaining best picture nominees are BelenBob Trevino Likes ItIt Was Just an AccidentMarty Supreme and Sentimental Value.

In addition to nominations across 24 competitive categories, LEJA announced three special honors.

Tonatiuh will receive the Breakout Award for his performance in Kiss of the Spider Woman. Diego Luna will be honored with the Activism Award for his advocacy for immigrant rights and for using his platform to amplify immigrant communities and support related organizations.

LEJA will also present Benicio del Toro with the Rita Moreno Lifetime Achievement Award. Previous recipients include Rita Moreno (2019), Jennifer Lopez (2020), Rosie Perez (2021), John Leguizamo (2022), Guillermo del Toro (2023), Eugenio Derbez (2024) and Edward James Olmos (2025).

Del Toro, an Academy Award-winning actor, is being recognized for his decadeslong contributions to film, including performances in mainstream and independent projects that have elevated Latino storytelling worldwide.

Winners of the eighth annual Latino Entertainment Film Awards will be announced Feb. 9, 2026, on LEJA’s social media channels.

Founded in 2018, LEJA is an organization that amplifies the voices of U.S.-based entertainment journalists covering film and television. The group is inclusive of journalists who identify as Latino, Latina, Latinx, Hispanic, Afro-Latino, Afro-Latina or other inclusive terms that reflect the diversity of the Latino community.
