Telenovela fans listen up! Prime Video has revealed the premiere date for the return of one of the genre’s favorite character, Betty la Fea in an all new series titled “Betty La Fea, The Story Continues”. The new series is slated to be released on July 19th exclusively on Prime Video. You can check out a fun teaser above!
“Betty la Fea, The Story Continues” is based on the highly acclaimed Colombian telenovela “Yo soy Betty, la Fea” that aired from 1999 – 2001. According to the Guinness World Records its the most successful telenovela in history. It has aired in 180 countries, dubbed into 15 languages, and adapted in up to 28 territories. This includes right here in the U.S. lead by America Ferrera.
Prime Video says “Betty la Fea, The Story Continues will pick up 20 years after the end of the original show. We will once again follow Beatriz Pinzón, played again by Ana Maria Orozco, who is an empowered and wiser Woman that is working hard to rebuild her relationship with her daughter Mila. In that time her relationship with Armando, played again by Jorge Enrique Abello, begins to deteriorate, making her question if she made the right choice 20 years ago.
Alongside its beloved original cast Julián Arango, Natalia Ramírez, Lorna Cepeda , Luces Velásquez, Marcela Posada, Mario Duarte, Julio Cesar Herrera, Ricardo Vélez, Alberto León Jaramillo, and Estefanía Gómez. Rodrigo Candamil, Juanita Molina, Zharick León, and Sebastián Osorio also join the cast.
