NEWS x MUSE Michael Sandoval talks with Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias about him being a part of season 2 of the hit Disney+ series, The Santa Clauses. New episodes available every Wednesday.

In the second season, the Calvin family is back in the North Pole as Scott Calvin continues his role as Santa Claus after retirement plans were thwarted when failing to find a worthy successor in season one. Now that Scott and his family have successfully saved Christmas, Scott turns his focus towards training his son Cal to eventually take over the “family business” as Santa Claus. However, a bit of North Pole magic brings an unexpected challenge to Scott’s plan.

Gabriel Iglesias, better known by his stage name Fluffy, is a Mexican-American stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. He is known for his self-deprecating humor and observational comedy, which often draws on his experiences as an overweight Mexican-American. Iglesias has headlined numerous sold-out tours around the world, and his stand-up specials have been viewed millions of times on Netflix and YouTube.

Iglesias grew up in Long Beach, CA. He began performing stand-up comedy in the late 1990s, and quickly gained a following for his relatable and hilarious stories about his family, his weight, and his love of food. In 2007, he had his breakout moment with the release of his stand-up special “I’m Not Fat… I’m Fluffy,” which was a critical and commercial success.

Since then, Iglesias has released several more successful stand-up specials, including “Hot & Fluffy” (2013), “One Show Fits All” (2014), and “Work It Out” (2017). He has also starred in several films and television shows, including “Magic Mike” (2012), “Magic Mike XXL” (2015), and “Mr. Iglesias” (2019-2020).

Iglesias is a popular and respected figure in the world of comedy. He has been nominated for numerous awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award, and he has been named one of the most influential comedians of his generation.
