Jennie Vee is unequivocally one of the most badass bassists around. She has played bass with Courtney Love, supported Echo and The Bunnymen and the Manic Street Preachers, and played with Tamaryn.
Jennie joined the much loved & celebrated Eagles of Death Metal as their bassist in 2017. She has kept very busy this last year launching her fashion line Jennie Vee Los Angeles and is now releasing her first limited edition 7-inch vinyl record “Out for Blood” through LAST HURRAH RECORDS. In addition to the title track, the Out for Blood 7-inch contains a haunting but heavy interpretation of The Cult’s “Wild Flower” on the B-side.
MUSE TV’s and Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes recently interviewed Jennie Vee & Slim Jim Phantom about the new 7-inch.
Vee has gathered an eclectic mix of musicians to assist with the auditory assault on both the songs “Out for Blood” and “Wild Flower” including musicians Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats), Jesse Hughes (Eagles of Death Metal), Jorma Vik (Eagles of Death Metal), Jeff Schneider (Smashing Pumpkins) and Chris Cheney (The Living End).
In addition to Out for Blood, Slim Jim Phantom, drummer for the amazing rockabilly band Stray Cats, and Vee have joined forces to create a brand new, modern-day rockabilly masterpiece titled “Locked Down in Love”. The limited-edition 7-inch record also contains a unique rockabilly rendition of The Beatles’ song “What Goes On” on the B-side. In addition to Slim Jim Phantom and Jennie Vee, the record includes a wild ensemble of guest musicians on both tracks: Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke, guitarist Jeff “Skunk” Baxter from Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers, and renowned pianist Teddy ‘Zig-Zag’ Andreadis.
There are 500 copies of both 7-inch records. The Out for Blood vinyl itself comes in MILKY CLEAR TRANSLUCENT COLORED VINYL and the Locked Down in Love vinyl itself comes in NEON PINK TRANSLUCENT COLORED VINYL.
