The Knott’s Boysenberry Festival, the annual food-inspired event celebrating the berry that started it all, returns with an extensive lineup of food and beverage offerings. In addition to boysenberry-inspired dishes, guests can enjoy live shows and music, along with a selection of local crafters and artisans. The festival runs daily from March 13 through April 12.
More than 100 signature boysenberry menu items will be available. New savory offerings include spicy boysenberry bulgogi over steamed rice, topped with green onions, and a Reuben ball served with spicy boysenberry Thousand Island dressing. New sweet treats include boysenberry and pineapple upside-down cake and a boysenberry meringue tart. Beverage options include a boysenberry paloma, boysenberry and kiwi lemonade, and a boysenberry tequila sunrise. Guests may purchase a tasting card, which includes six tastings from select food and beverage items. Tasting cards are available online and at the park.
The festival also features the Boysen Bear’s Pie Kitchen Games in Calico Park, where guests help foil coyote pups Moxie and Brawny from stealing pies before joining the Boysen Bear’s Pie-Eating Contest on the Calico Mine Stage. At the newly renovated Birdcage Theatre, “The Great Bank Robbery” invites audiences to cheer the hero and boo the villain.
Knott’s Preserved returns, taking guests on a musical journey from Calico Ghost Town to the Seaside Boardwalk of the Roaring ’20s in celebration of the park’s history. Also returning is Old MacDonald’s Barn, a tribute to one of the farm’s original attractions, featuring horses, goats and other animals. At the History of the Boysenberry Museum in Town Hall, guests can learn about the berry’s impact on the Knott family and Southern California.
In Ghost Town, the annual Boysenberry Festival Crafts Fair features boysenberry-inspired products from more than two dozen local vendors. At the Factory Store, the “Tied Up in Knott’s” art show showcases works by artists from the Knott’s community.
Guests may extend their visit with an overnight stay at Knott’s Hotel, located steps from the park. The Boysenberry Festival package includes overnight accommodations, one-day admission for each registered guest, one boysenberry tasting card per person, one single-use Fast Lane per person and hotel parking.
