From the humble playgrounds of Puerto Rico to the prestigious stages throughout Broadway and nationwide, Luis Salgado prevailed over a life of adversity to become one of the very few Above The Line Latino Director/Producer/Choreographers on Broadway today. From D’s to F’s in the classroom to lighting up Broadway, Luis Salgado has overcome a troubled youth to become the Winner of three 2023 Helen Hayes Awards. Luis Salgado is an inspiration not only to Latinos, but to all hard working people from humble beginnings.
A product of afters-school programs, Luis Salgado uses his success and platform to give back to the Latino community. A philanthropist at heart, through his non-profit R.Evolucion Latina, Salgado mentors aspiring young actors, writers and choreographers to nurture their raw talents and brings them with him to the world of Theater.
Salgado came from Puerto Rico and has become one of the prominent creative Latino voices on Broadway, and is using his voice to showcase his Latino culture to the world. His upcoming production “¡VIVA! BROADWAY: AQUÍ Y AllÁ (Here and There)” promises to be a celebration of Latino Culture, not only for his native Puerto Rico, but for all of Latino America!
