Inspired by a true story, a young Black FBI agent, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, travels to Mississippi in the 1960s to investigate a string of brutal killings targeting civil rights leaders. He is forced to work alongside a notorious mafia hitman, Greg Scarpa, played by Mark Wahlberg, and the two are drawn into a deadly hunt where the line between justice and vengeance begins to blur.
When the system fails, two men divided by nearly everything find common ground: The law has limits. They don’t.
