Universal Studios Hollywood is bringing back Mega Movie Summer, a seasonal celebration featuring entertainment, food and exclusive merchandise inspired by films from Universal Pictures and Illumination. The limited-time event runs June 13 through Aug. 9, 2026, and is included with theme park admission.
The park is also offering a Buy A Day, Get A 2nd Day Free General Admission ticket, available online, with all visits to be completed by Dec. 16, 2026. Blockout dates and other restrictions apply to the second visit.
This year’s activations are inspired by Illumination’s upcoming “Minions & Monsters,” opening in theaters July 1; Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” opening July 17; the 25th anniversary of the Fast & Furious franchise; and characters Elphaba and Glinda from “Wicked” and “Wicked: For Good.”
Minions & Monsters
New Minions characters Henry and James will appear at Super Silly Fun Land near the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction, featuring interactive experiences and a Minion Dance Party. An exclusive merchandise collection will be available, including a Shoulder Pal themed to monster character Goomi, blind box figures, apparel and accessories.
The Minions Cafe will offer new menu items including Howard’s Berry Lemonade Cupcake and James’ Carbonara, a cavatappi pasta with garlic cream sauce, pancetta and peas. Despicable Delights will serve Irene’s Orange Banana Float.
The Odyssey
One of the original ships from Nolan’s film will be on display along the Studio Tour. Footage and filmmaker interviews will air on tram monitors during the tour.
A 34-foot Trojan Horse from the film will also be on display at Universal CityWalk Hollywood beginning in July, in front of the Universal Cinema AMC.
Fast & Furious 25th Anniversary
Authentic picture cars from the franchise will be displayed in Universal Plaza, accompanied by a hip-hop performance by the Street Racers dance show and a daily DJ. New anniversary merchandise will be available at the 101 Exchange store, adjacent to the upcoming Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster.
Hollywood & Dine, near the park’s main entrance, will be transformed into Drift & Dine, offering a themed menu including an L.A. Drift Dog, BBQ Chicken Platter, Fried Elote Corn Dog, BBQ Corn Ribs, Quarter Mile Funnel Cake and Street Cart Watermelon and Pineapple. The adjacent Cocina Mexicana restaurant will offer a shareable La Familia Meal.
At Universal CityWalk, NBC Sports Grill & Brew will feature a Full Throttle Teriyaki Burger, Drift Tandem Skewers, Car Meet Platter and a Nitrous Boost cocktail. Antojitos Cocina Mexicana will serve a Birria Burger, La Familia Platter and a tequila-based cocktail.
Wicked
Elphaba and Glinda character meet-and-greets will return near the DreamWorks Theatre. Exclusive merchandise, including Spirit Jerseys, plush and more, will be available for purchase.
Jaws
Mel’s Diner will offer a themed menu with returning items including the Shark Bait Burger, Lobster Roll, Fish & Chicken Basket and Amity Island Funnel Cake. Studio Scoops on the lower lot will debut a Hello Kitty Jaws Blueberry Cheesecake Sundae. Exclusive merchandise, including a new Loungefly crossbody bag, apparel and accessories, will also be available.
At CityWalk, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville will offer two Jaws-themed items: the Beachside Melt and the Forbidden Waters cocktail. Voodoo Doughnut will feature a Banana Cream Mayhem Doughnut and a Minions & Monsters Mischief Doughnut.
