On this episode of Sound & Vision Mike Sandoval sits down with Ryan Ellis to talk about his music, faith and using social media to get his message out prior to his performance at Mama Lion in Los Angeles.

2024 Grammy nominated singer-songwriter and Sony Music recording artist, Ryan Ellis, began
his musical journey in his adolescence when he used performing-arts to escape the instability at
home. After serving in the Navy and a tour in Afghanistan, he rediscovered his connection to
faith through music. He describes his music as contemporary worship that blends R&B and pop.

Ryan’s debut radio single, “Heart of the Father,” reached No. 2 at MediaBase, top 5 at Billboard
and has received more than 50 million streams to date. The ardent nature of Ryan’s songwriting
has empowered him to write for some of the biggest worship artists such as Matt Redman,
Natalie Grant and House Fires. He received ASCAP’s ‘Most Performed Song 2018’ award for
writing Chris Tomlin’s “Resurrection Power” and an accompanying New Artist of the Year Dove
Award Nomination as career milestones. In 2023, he wrote and performed on Maverick City
Music’ Grammy winning Album ‘Kingdom Book One’.

Accolade, however, is not the fuel of Ellis’ fire. Ellis is not afraid to explore the deepest
questions of life. Yet, amidst the inquisitions, there is always a lyric seasoned with hope at the
end of the tunnel.
