The first-ever winner from season one of NBC’s ‘Bring the Funny‘ was announced during last week’s finale. Joe BeretaLee NewtonElliott Morgan, and Steve Zaragoza, the foursome better known as The Valleyfolk, have won the ultimate comedic competition. Bereta, Newton, Morgan, and Zaragoza received a $250,000 prize and beat out Lewberger, Ali Siddiq, The Chris and Paul Show, and Tacarra Williams to become this year’s winner. The Valleyfolk are from and reside in Los Angeles. Elliott, Lee, Joe and Steve formed The Valleyfolk just last year and within that time their sketches have garnered over 6.5 million views online. Their YouTube subscribers are currently at an impressive 290k. The group looks forward to continuing to bring their unique and sometimes dark style of comedy to America. The finale including many special guests including Jeff Ross, Chris Redd, and of course, John Legend.

 “Bring the Funnyis a new competition series that features the world’s best comedic acts and, for the first time on television, embrace every style of comedy performance in one competition. This year we saw stand-up comedians, sketch troupes and comedic variety acts. “Saturday Night Live”‘s longest-running cast member, Kenan Thompson, cultural tastemaker Chrissy Teigen, and comedy icon Jeff Foxworthy served as judges in season one.
