Universal Destinations & Experiences invites guests worldwide to raise a mug this spring for Butterbeer Season in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal parks in Orlando, Hollywood, Japan and Beijing.
The annual celebration highlights the iconic beverage from the “Harry Potter” series with limited-time treats, new twists on the classic drink and exclusive Butterbeer-themed merchandise. Butterbeer Season runs March 1 through May 31 at Universal Orlando Resort, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Beijing Resort, and April 1 through May 17 at Universal Studios Japan.
With notes of butterscotch and shortbread, Butterbeer has become a must-try for fans visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal destinations worldwide. What began as a single beverage is now offered in multiple versions — cold, frozen, hot and non-dairy — along with desserts such as Butterbeer Potted Cream, Butterbeer ice cream and the Ice Lolly.
Here’s what guests can expect at each destination:
Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood (March 1–May 31)
Guests can celebrate inside The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood and across all three lands at Universal Orlando: Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida, Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure and Ministry of Magic at the new Universal Epic Universe.
Both U.S. destinations will debut exclusive offerings, including the new Butterbeer Waffle for a limited time at the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade and the Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley. The Butterbeer Cream Puff returns to Universal Studios Hollywood.
At Universal Orlando, additional limited-time treats include a Butterbeer Cupcake, Butterbeer Cookie Sandwich, Butterbeer Candy Apple and Butterbeer Shortbread Bar, available at Honeydukes in Hogsmeade and Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley. A Bièraubeurre Crème Brûlée will be available at Café L’air de la Sirène in the Ministry of Magic.
Butterbeer-flavored truffles and macarons will also debut at Universal Orlando and be available year-round at the K. Rammelle confectionery in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic at Universal Epic Universe.
New Butterbeer-themed merchandise, including a Spirit Jersey, T-shirt and bucket hat, will be available at select retail locations throughout The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood, as well as online.
Universal Beijing Resort (March 1–May 31)
At Universal Beijing Resort, guests can enjoy a limited-time Butterbeer Cream Puff while exploring The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade. New seasonal merchandise will also debut, including a limited-edition “Harry Potter 25 Years of Magic” Butterbeer stein.
Universal Studios Japan (April 1–May 17)
For the first time, Universal Studios Japan will offer a limited-time Butterbeer Cream Puff during Butterbeer Season. Guests can also shop Butterbeer-themed merchandise at Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods.
