NEWS X MUSE Manny Gomez spoke with Jesse Moss and Amanda McBaine. They are the directors and producers for the Apple Original Film, “Girls State”. A documentary that follows a group of teenage girls who participate in an immersive experience to learn what it means to build America’s democracy from the ground up. They take on several different roles and get a better perspective on what it takes to be in those positions. “Girls State” premieres globally on Apple TV+ on April 5th.

During our conversation with Moss and McBaine for “Girls State”, we chatted about the reason they wanted to follow up and make this film after making “Boys State”. Being that there were 500 participants in the program, they shared with us what they were looking for in the teenage girls that they focused on in the film. It was a great conversation that you can check out above!

Here is the synopsis for Apple’s Original Film “Girls State”
