NEWX X MUSE Manny Gomez spoke with Don Mancini the creator of Chucky. The series is currently in its third season and returns on April 10 on SYFY and then streaming on Peacock. Which if you are not caught up with the series, is where you can find the previous two seasons as well. In this insane season so far we have seen some surprising deaths, a killer in the house, and a desperate aging Chucky. What could be more dangerous than a deranged killer that is quickly getting older?

In our conversation with Mancini about the series, he shares with us his thoughts on why Chucky has been able to transition well to television, unlike some of the other horror icons. We talk about the pacing and how they decide when is the “right” time for certain characters to get the ax… or in this season’s case…the chandelier. It was a great conversation that you can check out above!

Here is more on Chucky provided by SYFY

The third season of CHUCKY premiered on October 4th and new episodes are released on Wednesdays on USA/SYFY (9-10pm ET/PT). In Chucky’s unending thirst for power, season 3 now sees Chucky ensconced with the most powerful family in the world — America’s First Family, inside the infamous walls of the White House.

How did Chucky wind up here? What in God’s name does he want? And how can Jake, Devon, and Lexy possibly get to Chucky inside the world’s most secure building, all while balancing the pressures of romantic relationships and growing up? Meanwhile, Tiffany faces a looming crisis of her own as the police close in on her for “Jennifer Tilly’s” murderous rampage last season.
