First and foremost, we have to acknowledge the incredible success that Stray Kids have achieved with their new album “ODDINARY.” The K-pop group from JYP has been only the third K-pop act in history to debut a new album at the top spot on Billboard’s famous Top 200 Album chart. A feat that was only achieved by BTS and SM Entertainment’s mega mash up super group, SuperM.

Not only did the boys achieve success, but they had staying power to sit at the number one spot for the last four weeks. Furthermore, this is the first time they actually appear on the chart in the groups history themselves. This feat puts Stray Kids not only in the company of BTS and SuperM, but also in the same company as BLACKPINK, NCT, NCT 127, TXT and TWICE, who have all had albums that have appeared on Billboard’s 200 for at least four weeks. This also marks the first time a K-pop album of 2022 has been on the charts for four weeks and is most likely due to the group’s lead single “MANIAC,” which ranks 14th on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart.

Clearly Stray Kids have been putting in the time with fans and making steady ground in their global popularity. It’s no surprise that post pandemic the boys will be coming stateside for an American tour during the summer just as they have done in previous years on an annual basis.

For a group that only has been around since 2018 the group is clearly on an uptick and gaining traction for it. Here is hoping that their next stop will be performing at the Grammys.
