NEWS X MUSE Manny Gomez spoke with filmmakers Basil and Ben Mironer at this year’s Santa Barbara International Film Festival ahead of the world premiere of their feature film documentary “Dandelions” a Mirage Studios Production. In this film, we follow the very personal journey of Basil, who after receiving a mysterious Facebook message, travels to Russia to uncover an emotional family secret, and deals with the revelation of a man who says he is his father.

We spoke with Basil and Ben at the Arlington Theatre about “Dandelions”. During our conversation, we talked about why it was important for them to document and share this journey with the world. Being that there are a lot of very personal and vulnerable moments we find out if having cameras in the room affected how Basil showed his emotions. Also they share with us how seeing the journey over and over as they edit the film and now begin to show the film has affected them. It was a fantastic conversation that you can check out above.

Here is the information for the feature documentary “Dandelions” from Mirage Studio Productions:

A mysterious Facebook message propels filmmaker Basil Mironer to uncover a hidden family secret as he embarks on a journey from Los Angeles to Moscow. His exploration into the past unveils an emotional revelation, forcing him to grapple with the presence of a man claiming to be his father.

As he delves into the past, doubt surfaces, confronting him with the potential fallout of unearthing the truth.
