NEWS X MUSE Manny Gomez spoke with director and producer Marc Marriott and producer Brigham Tayler who are currently screening their debut independent feature film, “Tokyo Cowboy ”. The latest screenings are happening at this year’s Newport Beach Film Festival in Southern California.

“Tokyo Cowboy” has already been screened at the Boston Film Festival where it won best music, as well as the MINT Film Festival, Tallgrass Film Festival, Heartland Film Festival, and Hawaii International Film Festival.

During our interview, Marriott and Tayler gave us some insight into why they wanted this to be their indie feature debut. As well as how they could showcase a variety of cultures in a realistic and respectful way. It’s a great interview that you can check out above.

Here is the synopsis for the independent film “Tokyo Cowboy”
Brash businessman Hideki arrives in Montana having convinced his Tokyo bosses he can turn a profitless US cattle ranch into a premiere-performing asset. Yet when his Hardee’s-burger-loving Japanese Wagyu-beef expert fails him, Hideki is poised to misfire magnificently unless he identifies a missing element that’s key to the transformation… himself.

“Tokyo Cowboy” stars Arata Iura, Goya Robles, Robin Weigert, and Jun Kunimura. Get your tickets now to see the film at the Newport Beach Film Festival as there are screenings today and tomorrow.
