Maite Perroni and William Levy Will Reunite As Co-host The Biggest Night In Latin Music

Telenovela actors William Levy and Maite Perroni, who starred in Univision‘s Cuidado Con El Angel and Triunfo Del Amor, will reunite on the small screen after ten years to co-host the 2021 Billboard Latin Music Awards. They will share hosting duties with Venezuelan actress Gaby Espino and Mexican singer Pedro Fernandez. Espino and Levy previously presented together at the 2021 Latin American Music Awards.

This will be the first time Levy and Perroni will grace the small screens together once again in precisely ten years. The two first met back in 2008 on the set of Univision’s Cuidado Con El Angel, where they starred as lead characters Juan Miguel and María de Jesus. The novela would become a massive hit with audiences and launch the two into telenovela stardom. They would work together once again in 2011 on another Univision production, Triunfo del Amor, where they played the leads and love interests Maximiliano Sandoval and Maria Desamparada.

Named one of the Top Ten Latino Actors by Variety, William Levy has participated in several films, including Tyler Perry’s The Single Moms Club, Addicted, and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. He recently returned to the network that gave him his first break on the reality shows Isla de la Tentación and Protagonistas de Novela, and starred as Sebastián Vajello in Telemundo’s remake of the Colombian telenovela, Café con Aroma de Mujer. Filming on the novela wrapped in early August 2021, and Levy wasted no time and went straight to work on the movie South Beach Love, premiering on the Hallmark Channel this fall.

Maite Perroni is a Mexican actress and singer who rose to fame as a member of the musical group RBD. She has starred in numerous Univision telenovela productions, including the novela Triunfo del Amor. She appeared as Alma Solares in 2020 for season one of Netflix’s most successful non-English language series, Oscuro Deseo (Dark Desire). She will reprise her role as Adriana in the second season of El Juego de las Llaves on Amazon Prime Video, premiering in September.

This will be the first time all four international stars will share the stage as hosts at this year’s award ceremony, airing live on Telemundo beginning at 7 pm/6c. The night will begin with the traditional “La Alfombra de Los Premios Billboard” red carpet special, followed by the awards show at 8 pm/7c. The show will simultaneously be cast on the Hispanic entertainment cable channel, Universo, and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean on Telemundo Internacional.

The Billboard Latin Music Awards is the only awards show to honor the most popular albums, songs, and performers in Latin music. The awards show will coincide with Billboard Latin Music Week, which returns to Miami from September 20-25, 2021. The week-long event will include live conversations and performances with superstars like Karol G, Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam, and many more!

The Billboard Latin Music Awards airs Thursday, September 23, on Telemundo and Universo.
