The trailer for the upcoming film Cassandro was released today by Prime Video. The film which screened at the Sundance Film Festival star Gael Garcia Bernal and will be released in theaters select theaters on September 15.
Saúl Armendáriz, a gay amateur wrestler from El Paso, rises to international stardom after he creates the character ‘Cassandro,’ the “Liberace of Lucha Libre.” In the process, he upends not just the macho wrestling world, but also his own life. Based on a true story. Directed by Academy Award® winner Roger Ross Williams.
In addition to Garcia Bernal, Roberta Colindrez, Perla De La Rosa, Joaquín Cosío, and Raúl Castillo with special appearances from El Hijo del Santo and Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio. The film is released in select theaters on September 15 and will be on Prime Video on September 22.
