COMING 2 AMERICA TRAILER RELEASED BY AMAZON STUDIOS

Amazon Studios presents Coming 2 America the sequel. Debuted to release exclusively on Prime Video March 5, 2021.

After Amazon acquired the rights to the timeless film from Paramount Studios the head of Amazon Studios has made it a priority to release the sequel to the long awaited time piece. Stating, “Coming to America was a cultural phenomenon that is one of the most loved and celebrated comedies of all time, “ said Jenifer Salke. 

In the new hilarious adventure King Akeem (Eddie Murphy) and his trusted confidante Semmi (Arsenio Hall) have to find King Akeem’s long lost son. Thrusting the two men back into the borough of Queens, New York. Although there will be familiar faces there will be some new added bonuses to thrust this film into an academy award nominee with the likes of: Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, Jermaine Fowler, Bella Murphy, Rotimi, Kiki Layne, Nomzamo Mbatha and Teyana Taylor. 

Another hidden feature is this new version of the film is the palace that was used for the King of Zamunda. The estate that was used in the film is rapper Rick Ross’s estate in Georgia that he bought from the late great Evander Holyfield. This home sits on 254 acres, features a 287 gallon pool in the backyard and has over 100 rooms to reside in. 

Amazon Studios has gathered together some notable names to add to the production of this home theatre hit. This film will be directed by Criag Brewer from Paramount Pictures and New Republic Pictures. Produced by Eddie Murphy and Kevin Misher also written by highly talented Kenya Barris with the help of David Scheffield and Barry W. Blaustein. With the first edition being a box office hit worldwide and selling over 288 million dollars. This time around plans to be no different with Prime Video reaching over 240 countries and territories. The original is Eddie Murphy’s ninth highest grossing movie of all time according to Fox Business.

Malik Patterson is a journalism student at California State University, Northridge. He has attained an Associates of Arts in Cinema and Broadcasting at Chaffey College.
